Celebrating "Israel" at 60!

Coordinated by the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires, free, and open to the public, the first weekend in May will commemorate and celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the 1948 founding of the state of Israel.

From 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, a "Community Celebration, with Klezamir" will take place at Congregation Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Road, Pittsfield. Klezamir's famed "roots rockin" klezmer music will spark the afternoon, which will also include a performance by Meretz, Berkshire County's teen Israeli dance troupe, and displays by local organizations, the sale of Israeli foods and products, and craft projects and other "child-friendly" activities.
