The theatrical folk-rock art collective Balthrop, Alabama combines the siblings Lauren

and Pascal Balthrop with former members of Rainer Maria and their Brooklyn neighbors.

Artist Michael Arthur accompanies the band on pen and ink, illustrating the songs live

with the drawings projected behind the band in the vaudeville tradition of a "chalk

talk," a precursor to animation. The music is clever and darkly funny and the art is

astonishing to watch. The band "combines breezy, melody-driven pop with Neutral Milk

Hotel-style existential wailing." --Village Voice.

DescriptionWickermania is on the rise again this year, in fact, it is this coming

Saturday, August 29th. Here is the run down of who has confirmed they are playing and

I've included a TIFF file of the poster in case anybody wants to print some up and hand

them out or post them. This would be helpful. The Event will start at Noom (one minute

after noon) sharp, I hope, so we can squeeze everything in & so Buford T Pusser don't

need to walk tall on our asses, we'll end at 11pm. There is some space for camping with

a couple fire pits where food can be made. We've always encouraged a potluck, so let's

keep that tradition. We have some firepit grilling options as well. Some refeshment

will be provided, but please bring more. Sun screen, bug spray, a blanket to lie on are

all helpful to yourselves. The DAR is a 2 minute drive from us, so if you feel like

swimming that's an option. It does cost $5 to park there. Speaking of money, we are

taking a $5 donation to be able to give some gas to way out of town performers or at

the very least we'll be able to take them out to breakfast. We are in Goshen, but here

is the best mapquest or google maps address. 196 Bal Rd Williamsburg, MA 01096 if you

get lost call my cell 413-320-9107. You can park along the side of the road on Ball Rd,

but make sure you park on the same side as everybody else. Parking is limited in the

field and you might get stuck. We will hold the event rain or shine. We have some

shelters but sometimes last year people had to wait out a little storm in their cars.

There was a double rainbow last year, the 1st one I've ever seen. Hopefully, Mother

Nature will be kind to us so campers stay dry. Please forward this or post this on

websites to let anybody know who might want to come. The myspace page is

http://www.myspace.com/wickermaniafestival Hope you have a great week & see you this

weekend.
